Portugal v Cameroon (friendly)

Intro

Another international friendly today between to big figures in this up and coming World Cup finals. Portugal being tipped as outside favourites to win and Cameroon are always one of the world cups usual suspects from Africa.

Portugal are going into the worlds toughest group with 5 times champions Brazil and strong African side Ivory Coast to compete against for a place in the 2nd Phase. A win here to day will gear Portugal up for there opening match against Ivory Coast.

Cameroon are entering the competition in a couple of weeks in another tough group with championship hopefuls Netherlands, the usually strong Denmark and the struggling Japan. Cameroon managed to pull them selves level against Slovakia at the weekend and previous to that managed to hold Italy & Georgia to 0-0 draws.

Cameroon are good value at 5/1 but i just can't see Portugal letting them beat them today after that humiliating performance against Cape Verde last week Portugal will be going out there to set the record straight and go into this world cup showing that they mean business and 4/7 is a more than fair price for them to do that. Maybe even look at Portugal really stuffing Cameroon tonight in which case look at something like Portugal (-2) at 5/1

Netherlands v Ghana (friendly)

Intro

Tonight we see two world cup teams in action Netherlands & Ghana, both facing tough groups. Netherlands are fancying there chance of winning there first world cup while Ghana are looking to beat there previous best which was to reach the last 16.

Netherlands are facing a tough and unpredictable African side, similar to that of Cameroon who they will face in what is likely to be there hardest group game and the one that is likely to be most crucial to whether they finish 1st or 2nd or 3rd in group E.

Ghana playing a very well paced and skilled Holland side that should prepare them for the likes of European football from there groups big to sides, Germany & Serbia, who currently look the favourites to qualify to the second phase but Ghana might spoil the party and a victory today in Holland will make them very strong contenders for that.

Its Netherlands game tonight to prove they can beat another World Cup side on there way to the World Cup, Ghana might pull off a good game but I don't feel certain by any means but if you are one to back underdogs Ghana are fantastically priced at 17/2 for a side that can be very unpredictable against good sides, but also look at the draw at 19/5 which is still a very good return. I can see this being a high scoring match maybe Netherlands 1-0 or 2-0 (both at 11/2)

Switzerland v Costa Rica (friendly)

Today we see world cup competitors Switzerland take on a non-qualifier Costa Rica, who narrowly missed out on a place in this years world cup, first by only goal difference to Honduras ( who are in Switzerland's group) and then in the playoff against Uruguay.

Switzerland need to get a victory at home today to prove they have a reasonable shot at qualifying to the 2nd phase, begin in a group with Honduras, Chile & Spain where they an easier run of getting second in this group. Costa rica is a good warm up to this group as they have a similar playing style to both Chile & Honduras.

Well I think its clear this is meant to be Switzerland's game but at 5/1 I can see the value in Costa Rica, but maybe 10/3 for the no draw bet odds would be a wiser way to go if you are backing the under dogs. But I think its safer to say Switzerland at 4/7 which would fit nicely into an accumulator or a double with a higher odds match.
